MELKSHAM’S maiden game at step-four level saw them run out narrow winners against a strong Evesham United side.
The home side were indebted to a wonder save from keeper Alex Shaftoe after only eight minutes when he somehow managed to divert Cory Simpson’s header over the bar from close range.
Melksham took the lead on 25 minutes when Jon Davies’ pass found Luke Ballinger out wide on the right and his pin point cross was nodded home from close rang e by Neikell Plummer.
