DANNY O’Brien scored twice as Runcorn Linnets picked up maximum points in a tight game.
Runcorn almost opened the scoring after five minutes through Paul Shanley from close range, while Niall Watson then had a goal disallowed for a marginal offside decision.
But the Linnets finally got the lead they deserved on the stroke of half-time when O’Brien’s free-kick found the bottom corner.
His second arrived on 75 minutes when his free-kick evaded everyone in the penalty area and snuck in at the far post.
