HOME IS BULLDOZED

BILLINGHAM Synthonia’s famous Central Park ground is no more. The Synners had been there since 1958 when their first home game, a 2-2 draw against Bishop Auckland, attracted a gate of 4,200.
The ground has also been used for reserve games for Middlesbrough FC and also athletics events.
But their last league game was staged there in April 2017, after which they moved out because of the cost of upgrading it. The Northern League Division Two outfit currently play their home games at the Norton Sports Complex.
