THE spoils were shared as Aveley emerged with a credible point after their 1-1 draw at Tilbury.
A mid-table battle, just a point separated the two sides before kick-off, and there was little quarter given from either outfit as both settled in to what looked set to be a derby battle between locals.
The hosts went ahead on the stroke of half time, Lewis Smith capping his triumphant return to the side with a goal.
