DEFENCES were on top but Larkhall lost their unbeaten record against a very hard-working Mangotsfield United.
For long spells, especially in the second-half, the Larks had the greater possession but they lacked that cutting edge.
The hosts took the lead after just ten minutes, thanks to Tom Hillman who wriggled his way across the area and drove home a low right-footed volley which deceived keeper Shaun Semmens.
Larkhall came close to a leveller when Harry Hope found himself in space as he stooped to head over.
