TRAFFORD secured a vital single-goal victory to edge closer to safety in a keenly contested, and at times controversial, encounter at Shawe View.
The hosts were on top for much of the first half, although Town created the better chances with Will Mellors-Blair twice going close.
Trafford’s only chance of note was a 20-yard drive by Eddie Servuts that was deflected inches wide.
