■ BURGESS Hill ended the year in the best way possible with a throughly deserved win against Herne Bay.
It was a quiet first half chances wise. The Hillians were the brighter and better team but it took until the 45th minute to open the scoring.
Captain Kieran Rowe burst down the right and pulled a cross into the Bay box which no one dealt with, allowing Marcel Powell to smash his effort through the goalkeeper’s legs and in.
