SOUTHALL won for the seventh consecutive game at the 1878 stadium to keep up their promotion push.
However, Sutton gave them a tough match and kept going for the full 90 minutes.
The winning goal came after 73 minutes from Brendan Matthew.
The home supporters had begun to think that they were headed for a goalless draw after seeing Southall miss a number of glorious chances to the break the deadlock.
