A 90th-minute equaliser from Clitheroe substitute Matt Barlow was enough to earn the Lancashire side a deserved draw.
Newcastle started off brightly and opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Joe Berks broke through a couple of tackles to cross for Jake Avery to slot home.
