PHOENIX were clearly up for this key relegation encounter from the off and it was amazing that they didn’t take an early lead when Gael Kileba, Denzelle Olapade, Adejola Lahan and Luke Leppard and missed chances.
Merstham took the lead in spectacular style when Lee Lewis smashed in from distance in the 25th minute.
Phoenix levelled when Ryan Hayes free-kick was palmed out by Endurance Johnson, but Lahan reacted quickly, poking it home.
