■ BOOTLE ended a run of poor form with a well deserved draw at Newcastle Town.
The home side, who came into this game off the back of successive home wins against Stalybridge and Runcorn, took the lead after half an hour when leading scorer Jake Avery lobbed the keeper from out on the touchline.
Bootle were dominant in the second half and were back on level terms within four minutes of the break as Castle stopper Joe Slinn couldn’t keep out Conor Harwood’s header.
