ATHERTON fell to a late defeat at home to Congleton Town, despite a promising display.
Colls opened the scoring via Kielen Adams, who opened his club account after combining well with Aaron Dwyer.
Congleton’s Max McCarthy made his own mark, first scoring after ten minutes before taking advantage of a defensive calamity for his brace. Adams notched again before half-time, picking up a ball from Babs Jenkins and curling a powerful effort home.
