■CLITHEROE swept aside league leaders Widnes in sensational fashion.
The home side took the lead when Lenni Cirino saw his cross hold in the wind and nestle in the far corner of the net.
Widnes tried to come back into the game, but when Emerich Poilly was fouled on the edge of the box, Veron Parny converted the penalty.
Clitheroe then finished off the half in superb fashion when a clumsy clearance scuffed to Leon  Creech who finished in sensational fashion as he bent the ball home.
