■ ALTHOUGH Mickleover had the chances for a firsthalf lead, Lichfield City’s defence held firm as it remained 0-0.
Taylor had an early shot cleared off line for the visitors, before both Beavon and Dales went close for Mickleover.
A penalty appeal was turned down after Dales went down, but Lichfield went close at the end of the half when Jamie Spiers hit the bar. It was more end to end in the second with Lichfield showing the form that has taken into the top six.
