■ THE first meeting in LS25 in 28 years between Garforth Town and Blyth Spartans ended in a disappointing defeat for the home side, condemning them to their first league loss of the season.
A first-half stalemate that was low on quality and clear-cut chances seemed to be going the same way in the second period. However, a few Garforth changes sparked more life into the home side and they looked like the team that would go on to claim all three points.
