GORLESTON made it four wins in their last five league games against newly promoted Downham to keep themselves in play-off contention.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 17th minute when a deep cross was headed back across goal by Alby Matthews and nodded in from close range by Joe Marsden.
Downham had plenty of the ball without unduly threatening the Gorleston goal, as the visitors held firm.
The Greens doubled their lead in the 74th minute when a Spencer Keller cross looped up off a defender.
