■ AVRO climbed to the top of the table following a hard-fought victory.
The hosts started the brighter, but allowed the Vulcans a golden opportunity to take the lead through a penalty for handball, which was duly converted by Kyle Hawley.
The game remained tight going into the second half, and it was the introduction of Kielen Adams that provided the Collieries brightest spark. The forward was twice unfortunate not to score, with a drilled half volley followed by a header moments later, before providing the assist for Alex Doyle to equalise.
