■ IT will not go down as a classic, but Congleton Town secured their first win since the start of November, defeating Sporting Khalsa.
Kieran Knapper got the game’s only goal after 30 minutes when Ethan Hartshorn played a delightful through ball to Knapper in the penalty area. The winger cut past his man before firing past Ra’van Constable.
After the break, Khalsa pushed forward looking for an equaliser but in truth they didn’t test Congleton goalkeeper Dave Parton.
Congleton had chances to secure the victory late on.
