■ PONTEFRACT Col-were in clinical lieries mood as they swept aside out-of-form Silsden in a festive West Yorkshire clash.
The early exchanges were tight, with neither side creating much, but Colls broke the deadlock when a neat through ball released Niah Payne, who stayed onside, turned sharply and fired home.
The hosts soon doubled their advantage as Ben Middleton grabbed his first goal for the club – left completely unmarked in the six-yard box to power a header past the helpless goalkeeper.
