HERNE Bay go into Christmas just two places outside the play-offs after winning a pre-Yuletide thriller at Jersey Bulls.
The Bay’s first trip to the Bailiwick got off to a great start when Steven Townsend made a fine run and his shot squeezed into the net past Pierce Roche.
Jersey stormed back and late in the first half, Freddie Norman saved well from Lorne Bickley and Joe Tyrie headed an effort off the line, though Reds thought the ball was over it.
