HITCHIN failed to take their chances as Rayners Lane fought back twice.
Hitchin dominated possession and created more than enough openings to win, but not taking these chances cost them.
Hitchin saw Lewis Franklin, Kye Tearle and Tyler Rhiney come close in the first half, but the goal did not come until the 45th minute as Callum Kane produced a superb finish.
However, just three minutes into the second half, Rayners Lane equalised after poor defending saw Omarr Lawson convert.
