■ BRANTHAM secured a landmark victory by claiming not only their first win of the season, but their first-ever triumph at Step 4 of the Non-League pyramid.
The hosts started brightly and were ahead after just eight minutes, Reuben Chinnery punishing a sluggish start from the visitors by firing past Charlie Congreve in the Downham goal.
Athletic continued to impress and doubled their advantage on the half-hour through a moment of individual brilliance from Ben Young, who beat three defenders before finishing confidently.
