Hitchin maintained their lead at the top of the table with an entertaining win away at promotion rivals Hertford, who spurned the chance to cut the gap with their rivals to just seven points.
As it turned out, Lewis Franklin’s goal widened the gap between the Canaries and the promotion-chasing Blues to 13 points, as Hitchin continue to sit level on points with Leighton, but with a better goal difference of five.
