NEWMARKET came out on top in a full-blooded encounter that could have gone either way.
Both sides could have scored in a frantic last 20 minutes but Samuel Okolie’s 28th-minute goal proved decisive.
Neither side did enough to establish early dominance but Newmarket’s goal changed the match.

The onus was on Witham to attack but their response in the first-half performance failed to trouble the home defence.
