■ IN a game where a win was the only result good enough, it was the U’s who took the points.
East Grinstead were the ones with the early chances and should have been ahead were it not for a brilliant save from Harry Haines.
Hastings, however, then scored three goals in the first half from Fin Chapman, Max Walsh and Lukas Franzen-Jones to take control of the game and ease themselves into the driving seat.
East Grinstead themselves did have the ball in the net but saw it ruled out for offside.
