■ STOTFOLD edged out Hertford Town in a drab game to dent the hosts’ hopes of reaching the play-offs.
Edwin Daffern and Dan Kemp forced early chances for the visitors and Kieran Barnes then had an effort saved for the hosts by Liam Gooch.
The goal that ultimately proved decisive came just before the break when Jack Brown rose well at the back post to head in an Ashley Kersey cross.
Midway through a scrappy second half, Dan Sears nearly doubled Stotfold’s lead when his effort struck he post.
A lacklustre Hertford finally roused thems...
