AN Anysius Lewis goal in the 86th minute decided the match at the Simarco Stadium.
The result put Maldon & Tiptree top, but they struggled to impose themselves on ten-man Witham in an even second half.
The turning point of the match occurred in the 42nd minute when Witham goalkeeper Harry Fairs conceded a penalty and was shown a red card with Witham leading 1-0. Freddie Sears scored from the spot.
Sears missed a good chance after 17 minutes, before Ben Allen put the hosts ahead with a good finish after 34 minutes.
