■HERNE Bay secured a narrow victory over Eastbourne Town thanks to a second-half strike by Kamani McFarlane.
The first 45 minutes proved to be uneventful as both sides cancelled each other out.
Eastbourne created the best chance through Rushaar Samuel-Smirkle after he blasted the ball over the bar from 12 yards out, after brilliant solo play by Emmanuel Robe.
The second half continued in similar vein until the 61st minute, when a cross-field pass released Kamani McFarlane, who drifted past his marker to drill the ball across keeper Chris Winte...
