Bill Montague gave the hosts the lead with five minutes left of the first half, poking home inside the six-yard box.
Imran Kayani and Kyen Nicholas netted after the break to seemingly snuff out any hope for the visitors.
But Dave Diedhiou struck with 12 minutes to go, before Sam Shaban reduced the deficit to one in the 88th minute to set up a nervy finish.
