After more than a decade at the helm, Don Amott has announced he will step down as chairman of Mickleover FC at the end of this season.
Turning 77 this year, Don plans to spend more time with his wife Mary and the family.
Amott took over as chairman in October 2015, and in a statement released by the club, his decade of leadership was celebrated for overseeing a remarkable transformation both on and off the pitch, laying “strong foundations to build on over the next 10 years.”
Under his stewardship, Mickleover now boasts a state-of-the-art artificial pitch, regularly used by Mickleover Juniors, other local clubs, charities, and community organisations.

Tireless dedication
The club installed new floodlights, a hospitality room, a club shop, and improved facilities at the stadium.
The Derby County Community Trust runs the club’s academy in partnership alongside a ground-sharing arrangement with Derby County Women.
Finally, strong relationships with local sponsors, combined with a series of regular large events, have helped establish Mickleover as a central hub in the local community.
Mickleover FC thanked Don and his family for their tireless dedication.
