Bashley appoint new manager and chairman

Bashley appoint

Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Bashley have appointed Dave Lewis as their new manager with Steven Lewis also arriving as new chairman.

Dave Lewis spent last season at AFC Totton as part of Jimmy Ball’s management team. The former Bashley left-back replaces Ollie Cherrett, who ended a near nine-month spell in charge on April 26. They finished 15th last season in Step 4, 16 points from both relegation and promotion.

Steve Lewis, who has replaced Paul Lucas as chairman, released a statement on the club’s official website:

“It’s an honour and privilege to take the helm of such a prestigious football club, with its rich heritage and history. I am excited to have the opportunity to take Bashley forward and build a football club we can all continue to be proud of.

“I would like to thank Paul Lucas for his hard work, commitment, and financial support to the club over the past four seasons, which has secured and maintained Southern League status. With Covid, cost of living crisis and the wettest winter since records began it’s not been an easy time to be a chairman of any football club.”
