Coalville Town to restart in United Counties League

Coalville Town

Coalville Town have confirmed they have been offered a place in Step 6 for the 2024/25 season.

Town resigned from the Southern League on May 24 after chairman Glyn Rennocks announced he could no longer subsidise the club.

The FA set a 72-hour deadline at the end of May for the club to submit their proposal for entry into a league along with a business plan to show the club will be sustainable.

After forwarding information on May 31, Coalville received confirmation today that they’ll be able to compete next season in United Counties League Division One, three divisions lower than Pitching In Southern Premier Central, where they finished 11th last season.

Chairman of the United Counties League Alain Poulain said:

“The League’s position has always been to facilitate the playing of football in our area and we will do our utmost to make Coalville Town FC’s stay in our League a pleasant, competitive experience.”

Town have confirmed they hope to appoint a new manager in the upcoming days.
