MINNOWS Eaton Socon have been denied promotion in the Steps 5-7 summer shake-up – because their pitch is four metres too short.
The Kershaw Cambridgeshire Premier side had hoped to be included in the new Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Step 6 set-up.
But FA inspectors ruled that while their River Road ground was up to scratch in every other way, their pitch was not long enough.
