ARMTHORPE WELARE called off their midweek Northern Counties East Premier game after a serious accident at work left a popular committee man with fatal head injuries.
Officials postponed Wednesday’s game against Shirebook Town when they became aware of the incident involving Nigel Roe the previous day. Sadly Mr Roe died in hospital on Thursday.
A club statement said: “We are extremely sad to report that Nigel Roe unfortunately passed away.
