Grimsby Town win the race for striker Omar Bogle

GRIMSBY TOWN have secured the signature of highly-rated striker Omar Bogle.

Bogle won the Conference North player of the year award after topping the scoring charts with 29 goals for the Moors. He scored 68 times in 121 games for Marcus Bignot's men.

The former Birmingham City and Celtic youngster has been linked with a move back into the full-time game since the season ended and he will be turning out for Paul Hurst's Mariners.

Bogle, who also won honours last term, has joined for an undisclosed fee and signed a three-year deal at Blundell Park.

“It's taken a bit of time but I'm happy now and just want to get started,” he said. “Grimsby first came in for me around this time last summer but I had been injured the season before and didn't think it was the right move for me.

“I had a good season for Solihull so now it's the right time. I like to be known as a striker who does a bit of everything. I'll hold the ball up, make the runs in behind and get in the box and score goals.

“Grimsby are a league club in size, stature and the fanbase. It's all set to get back into the League and I like what the gaffer and chairman have said.

“It's a relief to be getting back into full-time football. I've got the opportunity and facilities to push myself to levels I couldn't achieve at part-time.”
