Bashley Find Funding To Keep Club Alive

BASHLEY have been saved by closure after securing enough funding to compete in the Calor League Premier next season.

Bash members voted in favour of a resolution to begin proceedings to dissolve the club at the end of the season if new funding could not be attracted.

However, chairman Mike Cranidge was in talks with potential investors and looks to have secured the future of the club, at least for next season.

They will most likely be playing at Step 4 with relegation from the Calor Premier looking likely as they currently sit 23 points adrift of safety.

Chairman Cranidge said: “Following the provision of an affordable budget for 2014-15, a process is now under way to fill vacant executive positions from within the club.

“Thanks to the success of our money raising activities, funding is now in place. As the criteria of the resolution passed at the recent EGM are now being met, I am delighted to inform you that Bashley FC will continue to function as a Football Club and as a member of the Southern League.”
