ENGLAND C manager Paul Fairclough has named a 16-man squad for the friendly fixture with Cyprus U21s later this month.

The Three Lions will take on their hosts at the Ammochotos Stadium in Larnaca on Tuesday February 17, with the match kicking-off at 3pm (local).

And the fixture against Cyprus provides yet another opportunity for England’s talented young Non-League players.

Fairclough’s team continues to act as a magnet for Football League scouts and just 24 hours after the victory against Estonia in November, both Chey Dunkley and Harry Beautyman had been snapped up by Oxford United and Peterborough United respectively.

Before he was even able to pull on an England shirt Che Adams, having been named in the squad to face Estonia, was signed by Sheffield United and scored twice in three minutes in their recent League Cup semi-final against Tottenham.

“The squad for Cyprus is, in the main, made up of tried and tested players who have served us well with a sprinkling of new exciting additions,” said Fairclough.

“Paul Lewis of Macclesfield has become an instrumental player in their push for promotion to the Football League.

“Stefan Payne of Dover has proved to be the perfect foil for Chris Kinnear’s Dover side that have stormed up the table and performed well in all cup competitions.

“The continuity of a squad is always a problem for our exciting team. However, on this occasion most players will understand what we are all about and what is expected. It should make for an interesting encounter.”

The Squad

Calum Kitscha (Hayes & Yeading United)
Andrew Coughlin (Wrexham)
Marc Roberts (FC Halifax Town)
James Bolton (FC Halifax Town)
Tom Parkes (Bristol Rovers)
Kingsley James (Chester FC)
Matthew Pearson (FC Halifax Town)

Lee Brown (Bristol Rovers)
Andy Halls (Macclesfield Town)
Andy Yiadom (Barnet)
Jordan Burrow (Lincoln City)
Elliott Frear (Forest Green Rovers)
