Frome Town bring in Nick Bunyard to replace Adrian Foster

FORMER Paulton Rovers boss Nick Bunyard has been appointed the new manager of Frome Town, replacing Arian Foster who was sacked on Sunday.

Foster joined the Robins in December 2013 and helped keep Frome in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier. However, after failing to win any of their first five league games, his contract was terminated following Saturday’s 5-1 hammering at Chesham.

Bunyard is no stranger to Frome having played for the club in 2002 when the Robins lifted the Western League Division One title.

His move to the dugout has proved to be a successful one and he led Paulton to Southern South & West play-off glory two seasons ago before a tenth place finish in the Premier.

He left Paulton at the end of last season to take a break from the game but has made a swift return to try and get Frome back on track.

Robins chairman Jeremy Alderman said: “We are delighted that Nick has agreed to join us, he is full of enthusiasm and can see what we are trying to do at Frome – we didn’t need to sell the club to him and we now need to look forward and try to win back some of the supporters who have drifted away over the last few years.

“Nick will be given the time he needs to get things right and the most important thing is for everybody to get behind the new management team on Saturday when we play host to Kettering Town.  It’s a new start for everybody, the players included.”

Goalkeeping coach Lloyd Chamberlain will take charge of Saturday’s game against Kettering with Bunyard away on business.

Upon his return he will be helped by assistant manager Paul Milsom and first team coach Josh Jefferies.
