FORMER Premier League pair Darren Peacock and Trevor Sinclair have left their roles at Lancaster City.

Boss Peacock and assistant Sinclair departed the Giant Axe by mutual consent on Monday after Saturday’s FA Cup exit against Droylsden.

The Dolly Blues finished 11th in the Evo-Stik NPL Division One North last season but they have started slowly this term, winning just two of their opening eight league games.

And Lancaster will now be searching for a new boss with the Cup defeat to league rivals Droylsden being the final straw.

A club statement read: “Lancaster City Football Club and Darren Peacock have parted company by mutual consent.

“The club would like to express their appreciation for the time and effort Darren has put into the job, which was way beyond normally expected of managers at this level, and he has never been less than thoroughly professional in his approach, despite our modest budget.”

Former England international Sinclair added: “Big thanks to all at Lancaster City FC it’s been a tremendous experience getting back to grass-roots football where it all began. Best of luck.”
