COLWYN BAY are searching for a new manager after parting company with Ash Hoskin following Saturday’s goalless draw at Ilkeston.

Hoskin had only won three of his 16 league and cup games in charge of the Seagulls following his appointment in the summer after relegation from the Conference North.

Despite the draw at Ilkeston with ten men, Hoskin’s departure was confirmed after the game with “affairs off as well as on the pitch” a factor for both sides.

Assistant manager and head of recruitment Phil Staley has also left the club with senior players Rob Hopley and Mike Lea taking charge of Tuesday night’s game against Skelmersdale.

Chairman David Tichener said: “We are sad that things have not worked out, but after a promising pre-season, results, particularly at home, have been disappointing and that has been frustrating for everyone concerned.

“We would like to thank Ash and Phil for all the hard work they have put in over the last five months and wish them all the best for the future.”
