PAT RAYMENT has parted company with Evo-Stik NPL Division One South side Spalding United after three defeats in a row.

Rayment has left the Tulips by mutual agreement after discussions with the board at the Sir Halley Stewart Field on Tuesday.

His last game in charge was Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Daventry Town, a result that left them 12th in the table after finishing seventh last term.

Rayment took the Tulips to the United Counties League title in 2013-14 and just missed out on the play-offs last term. He quit Spalding in January before deciding to change his mind and remain with the club.

Assistant manager Marcus Ebdon and coach Danny Hussey have taken temporary charge of the team ahead of Saturday’s game against Newcastle Town.

Chairman Andy Gay said: “Following a constructive meeting on Tuesday, Spalding United and manager Pat Rayment have parted company on mutual agreement.

“There is no animosity between the club and Pat and we thank him most sincerely for everything he has done since he joined us in January 2012.

“We will keep everyone informed on the direction we as a club now take, but at this stage assistant manager Marcus Ebdon and coach Danny Hussey will be in charge of the team on Saturday for the league game against Newcastle Town.”
