FORMER Gloucester City boss Dave Mehew has returned to Mangotsfield United as the club’s new joint-manager alongside Steve Elliott.

Mehew had served as assistant after joining Mangotsfield last June but left the club just days before Thompson’s departure.

He is now back, however, and will share the managerial responsibilities with former Bristol Rovers player Elliott who retired from playing earlier this month following a spell with Cheltenham Town.

The Mangos are currently 15th in the league and a club statement read: “After interviewing all day on Monday, the board are delighted to announce that David Mehew and Steve Elliott have been appointed as our new management team. We wish them all the best on Saturday in our FA Trophy match at Marlow.

“We are also grateful to Neil Arndale and Lewis Hogg for being in temporary charge over the last two games.”
