RAMSBOTTOM UNITED have been forced to switch their League Cup game next Tuesday to Marine – with fellow Evo-Stik NPL clubs rallying around the unfortunate Rams.

River Irwell once again burst its banks and left the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium completely flooded on Boxing Day.

Their game at home to Workington on Bank Holiday Monday was unsuprisingly postponsed and while the club has started the clean up, they are unsure when things will be back to normal.

Rammy, along with their Doodson League Cup opponents Marine, have agreed to switch the second round game which will now be hosted by the Mariners.

United have been boosted by some financial help from Halesowen Town, who raised £153 from a bucket collection at their game on Monday against Sutton Coldfield Town.

A group of Royals fans then went one step further and travelled up to Ramsbottom – a 220-mile round trip – on Tuesday to give a helping hand.

There has also been a JustGiving page set up to aid the club, with almost £700 already raised thanks to donations from fans of a variety of different clubs.
