Paul Fairclough names England C squad for Slovakia test

ENGLAND C boss Paul Fairclough has named his 16-man squad for the International Challenge Trophy fixture against Slovakia U21s next month.

Non-League’s Three Lions got their campaign off to the perfect start, beating Ukraine U20s 2-0 in Kiev back in March thanks to goals from Kurtis Guthrie and Kayden Jackson.

And Fairclough will be hoping to make it two from two on home soil, naming a strong squad for the game at Sutton United’s Gander Green Lane on Sunday, June 5 (2pm kick-off, free entry).

There are a total of six players included from outside Non-League’s top tier and two members of the squad – Omar Bogle and John Goddard – while be making their final England C appearances before heading into the Football League.

Bogle starred as Grimsby Town beat Forest Green Rovers in the National League promotion final on Sunday and Goddard has earned a move from Woking to Swindon Town.

Contingency Squad: Peter Crook (Harrogate Town), Chez Isaac (Braintree Town), Brandon Daniels (Harrogate Town), Dion Charles (AFC Fylde), Scott Leather (Altrincham), Daniel Sweeney (Maidstone United), Daniel Johnson (Gateshead), Sam Jones (Alfreton Town), Jack Paxman (Maidstone United).
