FORMER Kendal Town manager Dave Foster has returned to the Mintcakes’ dugout for a second spell in charge of the Evo-Stik NPL North side.

Foster, who spent last season as the club’s assistant manager, was Kendal boss from 2012 up until September 2014 and he has been appointed again to lead the Parkside Road outfit.

He will be assisted by last season’s caretaker boss Gary Fawcett – who replaced Michael Stringfellow who quit in December – and Steve Whitehouse.

Fawcett, the club’s former U23 manager, stepped down from his caretaker role at the end of the season after the Mintcakes had finished 15th in the league.

On Foster’s appointment, chairman George Gudgeon said: “We were pleased with the calibre of candidates for the position of head coach, and are grateful to all that applied.

“After careful consideration the decision was based on what was best for the club at this stage of its development.”
