Dorchester Town striker Rory Fallon has been given a shock call up to the New Zealand squad for their crucial World Cup play-off double header against Peru.
The former Plymouth and Swindon striker hasn’t played a competitive match for The Kiwi’s since March 2016 but will now be vying for a starting spot alongside Burnley’s Chris Wood and Shane Smeltz of Borneo FC.
35-year-old Fallon currently has a hamstring strain but Dorchester Town manager, Steve Thompson believes Fallon could be fit for the opening leg.
Fallon currently has 24 caps and six international goals to his name but will be looking to add to those numbers when New Zealand plays Peru in Wellington on Saturday, November 11.
The return fixture is four days later in Lima on Wednesday, November 15.
