Takeover talks between investor Raj Singh and owner John Blackledge are back on after negotiations hit a stumbling block yesterday.
Hartlepool’s newly installed director of football Craig Hignett has told The Northern Echo they “expect a deal to go through in the next few days”.
Following discussions this morning the deal is back on track and Hignott added: “We are all working working hard behind the scenes to get the deal done.
“Negotiations hit a snag last night but Raj and John have chatted again this morning and we now expect a deal to be concluded within days.”
Singh’s consortium, which includes Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling, were close to reaching an agreement last night until the deal stalled, with the players’ wages due to paid on Friday.
Tonight they take on Barrow in a huge relegation clash which will be televised on BT Sport.
