Striker Ross Lafayette has been recalled by Sutton just hours before Maidstone’s huge relegation six-pointer at Solihull Moors.
The 30-year-old joined the Stones in February and then had his loan extended until the end of the season.
The former Welling and Dover striker has scored three goals in that time but Maidstone find themselves in a scrap to stay up after winning just two of their last 24 league games.
They sit six points above the drop although Barrow, in 21st, have two games in hand.
Tonight Maidstone take on Solihull, who are three points behind them, and will be without Lafayette.
The club confirmed: “Ross Lafayette has been recalled by Sutton United and will be back with The U’s for their away trip to FC Halifax Town tonight.
“Our thanks to Ross for his contribution since joining on loan in early February.”
