enewbyweb

Defender Elliot Newby has departed AFC Telford to join National League North rivals Chorley for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old had a sterling season in Telford’s midfield last season, which ended in him picking up the club’s player of the year award after impressing during his 40 appearances.
Newby began his career with Bolton Wanderers before making the move into Non-League with Barrow. A loan move to Burscough & Altrincham followed before the midfielder joined Telford last summer.
Speaking about the signing, new Chorley boss Jamie Vermiglio told the club’s official website, ““There were a lot of clubs interested in Elliot after the excellent season he had at Telford.
“He’ll give us extra creativity and goal threat, and the flexibility to play a number of formations. He can play in a number of different positions and compliments the squad we’ve already got in place.”
The midfielder will now link up with his twin brother Alex who also plays at Victory Park.
