Matlock Town winger Zak Brunt makes Sheffield United move

capture-5

Young Matlock Town prospect Zak Brunt has landed a high profile move to Championship side Sheffield United.
The 16-year-old midfielder joined the Northern Premier Division side last year and quickly broke into the first-team picture.
Brunt’s performances for the Gladiators soon caught the eye of several professional clubs and the winger has now followed in the footsteps of fellow academy prospect Max Hunt by securing a move to the Championship.
Speaking to the club’s website, Brunt said: “I would like to place on record my thanks to Matlock Town FC, the staff and supporters. My experience with The Gladiators has been invaluable to me, and it’s put me in a good place mentally for the challenges that lay ahead.
“My teammates have been absolutely fantastic, from the 16’s up to and including the first team. Without their encouragement, things would have been much more difficult for me.“Thank you to all the coaching staff who have pushed me and praised me. Thank you also to those away from the field, who made me feel welcome, the girls in the lounge, the ladies in the cafe, the stewards and groundsman.”
